The Advisory Council of the Heads of Protestant Churches in Russia has been operating in the country since 2002 as the main deliberative assembly of Protestant Churches.
Its main task is to coordinate joint activities of establishment peace and harmony in civil society, development a unified position in its relations with the state and other religious organizations, as well as protection of believers’ rights and freedoms.
The Council currently consists of Russian Protestant unions leaders (with full voting status):
Senior bishop of Russian Union of Christians of Evangelical Faith - Pentecostals Sergey Ryahovsky;
Senior bishop of Russian Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith (Pentecostal) Edward Grabovenko;
First Deputy Chairman of the Euro-Asia Division (Branch) of General Conference of Christian Seventh-day Adventist Church Oleg Goncharov;
Chairman of Russian Union of Evangelical Christians - Baptists Alexei Smirnov.
The supreme body of the Council is a meeting of the Council, chaired by one of four co-chairs, Secretary, the Expert Council of Development and the various working groups are responsible for ongoing work between meetings of the Council.
